The Road Ahead

Dear friend,

You may still have some doubts and questions about the way of salvation. I encourage you to continue praying and searching the Scriptures. May the Lord give you understanding. I would be glad to help you, so please feel free to write to me.

Or perhaps you have come to understand the gospel, and God has granted you the gifts of repentance and faith in Christ Jesus. For your salvation, you no longer rely on your own works and merits. Now you trust in the Lord Jesus Christ alone, and in no one and nothing else. I rejoice with you and praise God for his wonderful grace.

This is the beginning of your journey with the Lord. Your earnesly desire to follow Jesus and honor him in all that you do. He gives you a joy that words cannot express. At the same time, in his wisdom and love, the Lord will allow you to pass through difficult seasons and times of suffering. Through these trials, the Lord helps you mature in the faith and learn to trust him more deeply. Therefore, press on with confidence, knowing that the Lord will never leave you.

I suggest that you find a quiet place where you can meet with the Lord each day. Read the Bible carefully (for example, one chapter each day from the Gospel of Matthew). Listen attentively to what the Lord is saying to you. You too can speak to him in prayer: with praise and thanksgiving, confession of your sins, and petitions for yourself and for others.

As a member of the body of Christ, you have the privilege of joining with other believers in a local church. We need one another. The Lord wants you to be baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and also to take part in the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of his sacrifice for us. The teaching and preaching of the Word help us grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ.

The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

the Lord lift up his countenance[a] upon you and give you peace.

(Numbers 6:24-26).
